Gilles: Yesterday was Gilles's painting day...
After finishing his office work, Gilles had the good idea to do some painting during his evening. The office work day was quiet compared to the previous days, so it was the good day to do painting.
He did not make it very well: he did not remember that this wall was only the optional wall...to paint once every other wall would be painted. It's Junie, the incredible
poussin who reminds him...well it was way too late, Gilles almost had finished to paint the wall.
Paint work at Gilles's house is far from being finished, but at least that optional wall is done now...
To be honest, it looks pretty good. Thanks to Junie who designed the whole apartment.

Here are some early morning pictures of the wall of fame (We can see that I just woke-up, so please be indulgent and don't laugh !).
Yesterday, Junie was painting her nails, Gilles was also sharing the same experience... with brown colour...
Tonight, if my office work permits, Gilles will finish the painting in the living room. There is still a big wall to do, he will manage...
I discovered one thing yesterday: painting is a lot of fun when you are not alone !! I miss my Junie to finish the job !!!...

Junie: painting day was carried out so Gilles apartment can look at tad more homely! it was also inspired by the new change in arrangement of the furniture of his spacious living area.* see left *
Our aim was to improve the over-all look and feel of his seemingly dated apartment with bathroom accessories and fittings coming out straight from the 1980s home furnishing department.
Bold colors on the wall and some quirky deco might offset this and hopefully wouldnt add to the outlandishness of the appearance. After much consideration we both agreed on a dark blue color and a beige brown color for the walls as they seem to match harmoniously.
The visit to jotun proved rather amusing to both of us as the technology in paint-mixing came across as technologically advanced. From print catalogue to actual product, they got it all set. With simulated software of how the walls will look in the chosen color. Mixing was done in a computer aided machine that translates the desired code input to the right amount of primary colors to dispense into the paint tin. It was then shaken vigourously (not stirred) by robotic arms.A little bit like CMYK of digital printing. Paint mixing seems to be working on the

same principle.
We bought masking tapes, roller brushes and small and medium sized bristle brushes * see right*
And we are all set. Excited about our decorative vandal act, we wasted no time in preparing our task the next day.
My designer instinct jumped at the opportunity to make a mark when the question of each color-where came out.
explaining to my client , gilles, i psuedo-professionally cited the reason why i would apply the blue on the arc of the passage to make its architectural form stand out instead of hiding its distinctive shape amongst the sea of ivory that is the bare walls of the apartment. bah!
Convinced by the designer crap, gilles the lovely boyfriend, and Junie the psuedo designer decided to do just that!

Gilles posed proudly in front of the camera at the task he is about to take on. As the designated roller-painter he stands with glorious pride at the bottom of the arch which is about to be vandalized murderously. To be covered in distinctive blue paint, pure ivory no more. Gilles the conqueror set to work immediately turning the quiet arch into a statement & then claiming it as his very own personalized arch of truimph. ( the only thing missing is a metal plaque bearing his good name) Or mine for that matter. since im the mastermind of this hideous murderous vandal act.
Another merciless act was the pillar in the kitchen. My killer designer instinct gave it 'a van gogh treatment' as gilles will call it. By ragging savagely on the pillar that stands in the middle of the kitchen. That is my pillar monument, one which will bear my metal plaque. Its not finished yet though. Art that is not satisfactory is not finished art.

So this is how the aparment looks like after the arch of triump and a neighbouring wall is given a coat of blue. Damn i wish i could change the color of that dung-yellow wooden door! * oops " scuseeeee mua!
